About Me and My family
My name is Anna Grybos' (pronounced "An-nah Grybosh").
- Grybos' is not a typically Polish name, I have it after my
husband, Robert. His
father's family comes from Gorlice,
eastern part of Poland.
- My family is Polish and lives in Cracow or Zakopane, by the Tatra
mountains.
My Work
- UJ -
Jagiellonian University in Cracow, the second oldest (1364)
university founded in Central Europe, after Prague (1348), and
followed by Vienna (1365). I finished my studies at the Faculty of Mathematics.
- AGH - University of Science and
Technology, former traditional name was Academy of Mining and
Metallurgy (Akademia Gorniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie). I work at
the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.
- NuHAG - Numerical Harmonic
Analysis Group at the University of Vienna, Faculty of
Mathematics, where I was the PhD student within
"Initiativkolleg" on Modern Mathematical Analysis and
Applications.
My Friends
- Madame Chantberry
- Justyna Sepial-Rychlik is a costume studies expert and as
you can see, her page is about the historic costume
reconstruction, mainly of the Middle-Ages and Renaissance. It
includes many interesting photos of her work.
My Favourites
A few web pages I like the most:
- BattleMaster - a strategy game
in the medieval-like decorations. I play it since December
2002, so you can see how I like this game.
- Fernando Pessoa
- Portugal poet writing also in English. If you've seen the
Wim Wenders' film "Lisbon Story" then you know who I talk
about.
- SAMOROST -
the legendary Flash game by Jakub Dvorsky. The sound is very
important. Use this SAMOROST link
to load the game directly.
- Wikipedia - the free
encyclopedia and my new passion. I write the articles in Polish and
English
Wikipedias, mainly about Mathematics, but I join some historic
projects as well.
