Discrete Integration Meeting
The
3rd Dicrete Integration Meeting was held on
26-29 May 2011 in Lviv. This meeting was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Celebrating the jubilee of the 90-years anniversary of the existence of the AGH University of Krakow, on 27-28 May 2009 our department organized a conference on selected topics in broadly understood discrete mathematics, the
2nd Discrete Integration Meeting 2009. Its first part took place in Osieczany (near Cracow) in the hotel "Pod Dębami". The second part was held in AGH as one of the many conferences held on that day at various departments to celebrate the anniversary.
This was already the second meeting of the series. The first was held in May 2006 in Smolnik (Bieszczady). Its participants were the members of the Graph Theory Group.
One of the organizers imperative objectives are the integration and an exchange of experience between mathematicians and computer scientists of various Cracow academies, and scientists from other national and foreign centres. Our conference refers also to the tradition of the Discrete Mathematics Days (
http://wms.mat.agh.edu.pl/~md/dmd.php/), which are an example of the many years ongoing cooperation between the AGH University of Krakow and the Jagiellonian University. The result of this cooperation is, among others, the Environmental Combinatorial-Algorithmic Seminar
(
SSAK), serving for exchange of ideas and experiences of Cracow scientists conducting research in these areas. Its first meeting took place during the 2nd DIM 2009, and the primate representative of SSAK (English: Mammal) became Professor Andrzej Ruciński (AMU Poznan), who gave the inaugural lecture.
